Conscious Communicator Power Word #55 – DISCIPLINE (

This week’s 2nd Power Word definitely improves performance, “DELEGATE!”This week’s first Power Word is something leaders need in the right contexts and in the right amount DISCIPLINE!

I read a quote today from T. Harv Eker that speaks to the importance of DISCIPLINE, “if you are willing to do only what’s easy, life will be hard. But, if you are willing to do what’s hard, life will be easy.”

If a leader expects DISCIPLINE from his or her people, they must be the role model for DISCIPLINE.

The Father of Our Country George Washington, one of the most respected leaders in American History was a master of self- DISCIPLINE.

    Excellent post. What I have seen in many work places is, management attempt to create a employee friendly organization is making the discipline weaker

    Thanks for your comment. You offer a great insight and caveat into leading work environments. Few know how to do it well and usually err on the side of going completely “laissez faire” and so anything goes. In these type of environments there are no clear performance expectations and accountability is significantly lacking. Great point.

    That’s the work I do with a lot of my clients as I help them create a positive, friendly environment that also gets the necessary business results at the same time. The two are not mutually exclusive and when done right, can be a lot of fun and very rewarding for those in the environment.
