Step 3 in Your I.D.E.A.L. Work Environment System is the “E.”
This means you “ENROLL & ENGAGE” everyone in new standards and expectations for attitudes, behaviors & performance.

This “ENROLL & ENGAGE” step is what allows the new work environment everyone contributed to defining to actually work.
Here’s how it flows:
After all team members have contributed to IDENTIFYing the characteristics and desired behaviors of their I.D.E.A.L. Work Environment, and DETERMINing the issues preventing it from emerging, team members will be ready for Step 3.
This step involves “enrolling & engaging” everyone to create three foundational support pieces that allow the characteristics identified in Step 1 to manifest.
These foundational pieces will ensure the preventing factors identified in Step 2 will no longer be an issue.
These are, the:
- Our D.E.A.L. Work Environment Document: this comes from the work in Step 1 and just needs to be refined, approved and put in final form.
- Position Results Scorecards: These outline individual team member performance standards, including: results focused goals, behavior and attitude expectations, as well as professional developmental goals.
- Position Results Scorecard Conversations & Log: This is the systematic support program that keeps all team members on track for living up to the D.E.A.L. Work Environment Document, and keeps everyone on track for achieving their individual performance goals by engaging in with regular, consistent performance conversations (weekly, biweekly, or no less than monthly).
